Summary:

ICS was contacted by a woman who wasn't sure what her boyfriend was up to or what type of investigation she needed. All she knew was that something didn't feel quite right at home. She explained that recently her boyfriend had begun installing numerous security and recording devices around their home and was unsure if they were intended to monitor her activities. She also had a suspicion that he may be seeing other women or conducting illegal activity, as people were constantly coming and going from the home during the day while she was at work.

ICS spoke with their Client to determine the best course of action to get to the bottom of the situation. Technical Surveillance Counter Measures (TSCM) was not an option as the Subject of the investigation worked from home and would rarely leave the house during the day. However, it was decided that the best course of action would be to first conduct a physical surveillance of the property to see any individuals that may be coming and going from the residence.

Conclusion:

Surveillance was scheduled over the course of two consecutive days. During this time, there was no movement from the Subject and no activity at the residence. The Client suspected that her boyfriend may have caught on and decided to keep a low profile. However, the Client was not ready to give up. ICS then suggested that if she thought the Subject was having an affair, certain items be collected discreetly from the home and sent to ICS labs for DNA testing.

A hand full of items were sent in to be checked for both bodily fluids, as well as narcotics. The Client sent in items similar to blankets, sheets, carpet samples, stray hairs, and even some broken glass that was found in the garage. After running a series of tests, none of the samples came back positive for the presence of male or female bodily fluids.

On the other hand, the broken glass came back positive for Opiates (Codeine, Heroin, Oxycodone, etc.). The Client was thankful that she finally had answers and an explanation the strange behavior she was witnessing from her boyfriend. ICS advised that the matter should be turned over to local authorities to investigate the possibility that the Subject was selling drugs out of their home.
